Turns out the proverbial cat is out of the bag after all. Actors Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor may not appear as a leading pair any time soon again. The once-much-in-love couple who called it quits last year, doesn’t seem to share a very positive camaraderie with each other. It is starting to become apparent in the promotional gigs for their upcoming movie “Jagga Jasoos.” Recently at a promotional event, both Katrina and Ranbir’s love-hate equation surfaced as they were seen taking frequent digs at each other.
At the promotional event, Katrina was asked by a scribe if she would consider starring opposite the Kapoor lad in future. Katrina’s response was not exactly very decorative. “It’s very difficult,” she replied. “People now have proof that he is a very trying and testing person. Ranbir has also gestured [to me] to not work on a film together. It will never happen again,” she added conclusively. And then when Ranbir was posed the same query, he seemed to not be in a mood to answer, and pulled the plug on the interaction by citing time constraints.
The mutual show of sour behavior towards each other comes as a surprise to fans as reports had floated that the two actors had decided to let bygones be bygones. And it surely seemed so, what with rather pally pictures from Jagga Jasoos sets going viral on social media. Even at Karan Johar’s 45th birthday celebrations, the buzz had been that Katrina and Ranbir maintained distance from each other. Although another set of reports had suggested that the two actors had been cordial then.
The Jagga Jasoos promotional event however, served as a reality check. Clearly, the spark between the two former flames has diminished. And it looks highly unlikely that another professional endeavor should happen between the two. Industry grapevine has it that both have other tight work commitments. Katrina is in thick of filming for “Tiger Zinda Hai” with superstar and former beau Salman Khan. On the other hand, Ranbir apparently has his hands full with the Sanjay Dutt biopic, and Ayan Mukerji’s superhero-flick “Dragon” opposite Alia Bhatt.
Jagga Jasoos is directed by Anurag Basu and co-produced by Ranbir Kapoor (his first). After a long line of well-documented delays, the film is slated to finally hit cinemas on July 14, 2017. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is said to have a special appearance in the film.
